STRATEGIC SOUL CARE
Spiritual direction isn't formulaic. In fact, each time we meet, we arrive differently-- formed by our season, capacity, struggles, victories, questions, longings, pain, and joys.
Each hourly 1:1 session is tailored by the Holy Spirit, as together we bear witness to His workings. In a non-prescriptive way, trained soul companions walk alongside one and help them notice God´s movement in their life.
For me, strategy applies to my listening - discerning a directee's giftings, strengths, learning style, history of experiencing God, blocks, battles, questions, emotions, interoception, and attunement - patiently, gently waiting upon God's leading, unique to every session. Depending on your need and season, we might sit in silence together, listening for God´s voice. We might paint, breathe, ground our body, stretch, journal, cry, laugh, sing, or talk. Always, we will encounter God, and both be changed for the better.
RESTORATIVE RETREATS
Come join us at our hidden, healing, two-acre paradise in the cool, mile-high mountains of Costa Rica for one of our monthly Restorative Retreats.
Absorb the tranquility, tropical flora, and sunshine. Dance in the misty, pouring rain. Inhale intoxicating orchids and fruit blossoms. Delight in fresh fruit and berries growing onsite.
Gently stretch in yoga by the fountain, prayer-walk the sculptured paths in solitude, or connect with a new friend in the stunning landscaped gardens. Prevail Spiritual Direction is distinctly Christian and believes in the Prevalence of God's Word as a guide. However, WE KNOW THAT God ALSO speaks through our world and our bodies.
IN OUR SESSIONS, WE seek TO draw from hundreds of ancient, biblical spiritual practices: art, breathing, movement, singing, silence, and deep listening. WE BELIEVE He speaks in images, colors, circumstances, and questions. THE GOAL is GOD.
IF HE is inviting you to lean into this ancient practice, accompanied by a trained soul companion, GET IN TOUCH. AFTER AN INTRODUCTORY CONVERSATION, your first session will be 30 minutes at no cost. Kelly Stack Scott
Kelly grew up between her catholic family in New York and her pentecostal family in Missouri. She holds an MA in Spiritual Formation from George Fox University/Portland Seminary and a BME from Evangel University, with a professional concentration in autism spectrum disorders from the University of California, Davis. She is an Ordained Minister and Certified Spiritual Director.
She founded Prevail Renew in order to glorify God through music, gardens and words that connect, heal, and nurture the broken so they can hear and sing their God-songs, too. (Zeph 3:17) She is honored to host space for leaders, artists, and the fiercely curious.
Kelly lives between Overland Park KS and San Rafael, Costa Rica with her husband and 2 giant dogs. She enjoys yoga, biking, gallopinto, and quality time with her spouse and 8 grandchildren.
Kelly Writes
Kelly, now a storm-seasoned sage, has journaled since young adolescence, finding God in the steadiness of His Word and the beautiful rhythms of His world. Despite car accidents, chronic illness, betrayal trauma, and losing everything, God is faithful and can be trusted.
Kelly can attest that when people (and injurious institutions) harm you, God sustains, redeems, rebuilds, and fortifies you into renewed life. He is both the roots and the soil that hold us firmly when storms rage.
Throughout her life, God has brought clarifying wisdom and captivated her with His questions. When led to write, Kelly finds God´s pleasure, and somehow, people seem to find her. She aims to be more faithful in stewarding that calling here.
